Welcome to a New Year!  Every year at about this same time we are all faced with stories on the television, in the newspapers and on the internet about many of the bad things that happen in our society.

In the past 48 hours we have seen 5 people shot and 2 of those people die at a family event in Old Sacramento.  We also saw a 21 year old driver and his passenger crash their car into a school playground and learn that the driver has died as a result.  While these events could have been much worse we are still left with the impact and reality of what did happen.  We could not have controlled any of these events, but we can learn from them.

Being aware of your surrounding is critical.  No matter whether driving or walking around, we all must maintain an awareness of the events that are just outside of our area.  Things going on around us matter and being aware will tend to decrease the impact that events like these have on you and your family.  Seeing a car approaching a red light without slowing down or noticing that a fight is breaking out in a mall or on the street allows you react before the event reaches you.   Just increasing your awareness whenever possible could save a life or prevent an injury.

When these things impact you or a friend, you have a responsibility to limit your damages.  That means if a fight is starting up you should remove yourself from any involvement and when you are driving you should use your safety restraints and pay attention.  These actions do no guarantee you will not be impacted, but improve your odds.

When those actions don’t work and you end up being injured as a result of someone else’s actions one of your next moves should be a call to the Law Offices of Guenard and Bozarth.  We are the team that can help you on your road to recovery.  We have access to the best doctors around and we can help you get back to normal.  Call us at 888-809-1075 or visit us at www.gblegal.com to learn how we can help!
